What is Wrong With Anti Virus Software?

Date December 22, 2007

Why I hate most anti virus packages more than the viruses they are meant to stop.

Behold the humble virus; a program written by some dysfunctional, lonely and sad person in some grey basement. Just like all other shortcomings in this broken world the virus isn’t even supposed to exist and neither should anti virus software.

By practicing responsible web surfing and email handling most Internet users can and do cut their virus threats down to one every blue moon, the anti virus program on the other hand is with you every day of your life.

Enhance your surfing experience: Turn Firefox into a better version of Internet Explorer 7

Date August 11, 2007

If you are still using Internet Explorer… Listen up! It is time for a change.

IE has a market share of 58.5% (June 2007, w3schools.com). This is only due the fact that it ships with Windows and that most internet users do not know any better. Internet Explorer is definitely not the best browser out there. If you don’t believe me, just look here or google “Internet Explorer 7 problems bugs”. It is not for me to decide what is the best browser, but what I can tell you is that Mozilla FireFox is a great alternative to IE. FireFox is the most popular third party browser for Windows and has displayed tremendous growth since its release in 2003.

Recently I decided to download the new Internet Explorer 7. It is actually not that bad… If you ignore the weird bugs, slow downs and crashes. I liked the interface so much that I actually put up with its nonsense for a while, but after reaching a point where my browsing experience became very frustrating I decided it was time for a change, back to Firefox. Everything worked great again, but I have gotten use to IE’s user interface and I missed it. By using a Internet Explorer 7 Firefox theme, I turned my browser into this:

FireFox IE7

Much better.
